KNUCKLED is a silver harpoon band, rolled and shaped from plates of prismatic layers, stapled through, and oxidized black.

It is made from the application of high heat to silver, the embrace of silicon, and dramatized surface decay - The outcome of the cognitive revolution, and the intention of mining and metallurgy.

One color option is available – a black patina accelerated from the loss of electrons amid a state induced by the reckless transfer of potassium sulfide compounds

Every patinated object will wear differently based on your behavior and skin pH to become individually yours.

USAGE

Burn one stick at a time, placing it on the top ridges, just like in the picture.

Light the stick first and then lay it on the omni, over the ridges. The stick needs air and space below it to burn.
Use stick type of approximately 70mm length.

Clean ash after each use and regularly clean resin build-up left by the stick.

Place out of direct sunlight if you would like to avoid UV discoloration.

CARE

The sand will brown at the points of contact with the incense, as is the nature of the effects of fire on organic material.
The stick can be pressed down at the bottom to lift it over the ridges to reduce this effect.

If a build-up of incense resin occurs, it will inhibit the burning.
Clean the resin after use with hot water [not boiling] and dish detergent, using a scourer or hard brush.

Steel wool or anything hard and sharp should be avoided. This can leave scratches and potentially damage the surface.

To remove dust, we recommend using a soft brush.

TRANSITION OBJECT
FOR BURN AFFECTED LISTENING

An Incense Object & Burner For Contemporary Incense Rituals.

ŌMNI was originally made for the Isamu Noguchi Museum in relationship with FOLIE à PLUSIEURS in 2020. The Listening Object is a quartz sand 3D printed platform, made in Germany, for placing and burning incense sticks. For this new edition we continue with the same producer to create a new batch run of the object.

Incense is a ritualized, short moment in time, for transition, for grounding, or for cognitive travel.

The burning ritual allows us to recodify a space for a new usage and transition into different moments throughout the day, from creation, recreation, and rest.

-

ŌMNI, a quartz sand 3D printed platform made in Germany serves as a monument for burn affected listening, a memory device, a presence touchstone.

The temporality of incense teaches us of the contradictory nature of presence - To be aware that you are here, while being aware that you are not there… Or somewhere else.

During the short period of burning, the listener is aware of the moments between lighting, listening, and extinguishing, while at the same time being transported to the place of memories or creative imagination.

Here, and not here. Permanent and permeable. Like the drifting and dissipating smoke.

Like a meditation, creating the space to be present is a counterintuitive activity. Be present and let go. Despite this contradiction, the activity heightens the awareness of presence in which ever direction you find yourself facing.
